Cadenhead’s has a rich & proud history and this page is dedicated to our Historical Ranges that hold a key place in Cadenhead’s past but are not produced anymore.

Small Batch Ranges
Small Batch Cask Strength
Our Small Batch Cask Strength releases were vattings of a maximum of 4 casks, but normally 2 or 3 casks, and these whiskies were bottled at Cask Strength. The only factor we considered when deciding what strength to release the whisky at was taste.
Small Batch 46
Our Small Batch 46 range was made up vattings of a small number of casks and bottled at 46% because it tasted best at that abv. We used a maximum of 3 casks per bottling so which means that every SB 46 release was limited and unique.
Single Cask
Bottled at cask strength, these single cask bottlings were distinguishable from our other historical whisky ranges due to their striking gold label. Just like our other releases, past and present, these bottlings had no artificial colouring and we did not do chill filtering.
World Whiskies
World Whiskies
Cadenhead’s World Whiskies range contained whiskies from outside Scotland, with malts from countries such as Ireland, USA, Australia, New Zealand, India, Brazil (pictured) and more! However, historically Scottish Single Grain Whiskies are/were also included in this category. Like our Authentic Collection, all bottles in this range are single cask releases at cask strength.
Cadenhead’s Blends
Cadenhead Creations
Bottlings in our Cadenhead Creations range were small batch blends, blended malts or blended grains. There was a maximum of 3 casks used and occasionally these were single cask releases. The Cadenhead Creations range bottlings were often the most intriguing and creative in any Cadenhead’s release.
William Cadenhead Range
The William Cadenhead Range was made up of malts and blends from a wide variety of unnamed distilleries. This range included continuous releases – although these could vary by batch or cask. ABV was either cask strength or 46% – as always, this was based on taste only.
Alternative Spirits
Cognac
Historically, Cadenhead’s has bottled spirits other than the staple diet of Whisky, Rum and Gin. This includes Cognac, which was brought back into our range recently after a brief hiatus.
These days, we source our Cognac from a variety of producers in France and, unusually for Cognac, we put age statements on the bottles. Bottled at natural strength with no added colour. Similar to our other spirits, our Cognac is not chill filtered.
Armagnac
Armagnac is a kind of brandy produced in the Armagnac region in Gascony, southwest France. Distilled from wine using a special blend of grapes and traditionally using column stills.
Our Armagnac bottlings for a key part of Cadenhead’s Alternative Spirits Range – historically Cadenhead’s have bottled a wide range of spirits, not just the whisky and rum we are most famous for.
Calvados
Calvados is made from apples or occasionally pears. It has to be produced in Normandy in northern France in order to be named calvados. The name “calvados” comes from the Calvados area in Normandy.
25% of calvados is produced in the region of Calvados Pays d’Auge, the cider for this type of calvados needs to come from apples grown there and must be double distilled. This is the group our Calvados’ from Dupont and Drouin distilleries resides in.
