Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Finished in an Amontillado cask since 2020, this 12 year old dram from the Speyside distillery of Knockdhu features complex notes of brandy butter, macadamia nuts, smoked paprika and pistachio.

Knockdhu Information

Located in Knock, Banffshire, this distillery produces a vibrant and open young spirit that has a citrusy edge. The whisky becomes thicker as it ages, especially after it loses the initial sulphur hit and begins to take on the cask influence.

In recent times, the owners have created a wetland area beyond the grounds where the spent lees is treated.

Nose:

Brandy butter, hazelnuts, milk chocolate, orange rind, Morello cherry, dried apricot

Flavour:

Cured tobacco leaf, macadamia nuts, cocoa, caramelised biscuit spread

Nutmeg, smoked paprika, cinnamon sugar, pistachio
