Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Re-racked into a Sauternes hogshead in 2020, this 12 year old dram from Glenfarclas distillery in the Speyside region features an abundance of floral notes with a savoury hint including honeysuckle, lime cordial, dunnage warehouse, wild garlic, white grapefruit and almond.

Heating its stills with direct fire to give the spirit weight is especially useful given Glenfarclas' commitment to maturation in ex-Sherry casks.

This produces a whisky which is rich, resonant and capable of extremely long ageing.

Did you know that Glenfarclas "pioneered" cask strength bottling, at least that what's they claim, in 1968? And they were one of the first distilleries to open their doors to the public - way back in 1975 - long before such activities were common.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

A sweet and fruity nose. Meringue, lime cordial, creamy, honey

Flavour:

Grassy, dunnage, musty, wild garlic, grape must, honeysuckle, lemongrass

Finish:

almond, lime zest, verbena, white graprefruit, dry.
