25yo Sherry Hogshead – 50.8% abv – £75 + Shipping
This is the first of the new releases from the revised Cadenhead Club and we couldn’t be happier to kick things off with this excellent 25yo Single Malt from Glen Grant distillery.
In May, before our open day, we held a free Cadenhead club member tasting where club members selected the cask we would bottle for this release. The gathered club members were given 6 single cask samples to choose from in a blind tasting and this cask of Glen-Grant came out as the joint-first selection which was quite something considering there was a single cask of 25yo Littlemill in the tasting.
This cask was matured for 22 years in a bourbon hogshead and then was transferred into a fresh sherry hogshead for the final three years – so more of a second maturation rather than a finish.
Nose
Rich sherry and nutty nose, with warm toffee, plums, mulled wine and a hint of aniseed.
Taste
lots of orange, with red currant jelly, old leather, touches of white pepper, poached pears and star anise.
Finish
lingering sherry notes with dry spices and growing creamy vanilla notes.
Terms of Sale
As this is our first bottling, we are initially limiting this to 1 bottle per member and the whisky will be bottled to order. We will accept orders online from the 1st of October until the 15th of October and then we will bottle the whisky the following week so that we only bottle the number of bottles required. If we have enough bottles available we may be able to offer a second bottle to people who may want one but this very much depends on initial demand.
The Whisky is priced at £75.00 per bottle (including VAT of 20%) and can be shipped to your home, assuming you are in a country that we can ship too, for a charge depending on where you want the bottle sent. Alternatively, you can have your bottle shipped free of charge to a Cadenhead shop of your choice for collection. If you wish for any of the shops to send the whisky to you this must be arranged with each of the individual shops and is at the individual shop’s discretion.
Please be aware that, although we are able to send bottles out to most countries there are some countries that we cannot deliver to.
