Terms & Conditions
These terms apply when you use cadenhead.scot and when you buy products, book tastings or join the Cadenhead’s Club through it. Please read them before placing an order. By placing an order you agree to these terms, together with our Shipping Policy, Returns Policy and Privacy & Cookie Policy.

This website is owned and run by William Cadenhead Limited, trading as Wm Cadenhead, a private limited company registered in Scotland (company number SC052072), with its registered office at 9 Bolgam Street, Campbeltown, Argyll, PA28 6HZ.
Wm Cadenhead is part of J. & A. Mitchell and Company, Limited. We run our online shop from our headquarters in Campbeltown on behalf of our Campbeltown, Edinburgh and London shops.
Contact: [email protected], +44 (0) 1586 552009, 9 Bolgam Street, Campbeltown, Argyll, PA28 6HZ.
2. Age restriction
You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol from us, and of legal drinking age in the country you are ordering from. By using this website you confirm that you are. We will refuse or cancel orders where we believe the buyer or recipient is under age, and the person receiving the delivery may be asked for ID.
3. Using this website
- All content on this website, including text, photography, labels, logos and designs, belongs to William Cadenhead Limited or is used with permission. You may not copy or reuse it without our written permission.
- We work hard to keep product information, prices and availability accurate, but mistakes can happen. Prices and product details can change without notice.
- Product images are for illustration. Labels, packaging and colour may vary between bottles.
4. Ordering
- Placing an order is an offer to buy. We email you to acknowledge your order. This is not an acceptance.
- The contract between us is formed when we email you to confirm your order has been dispatched.
- Our releases are limited and subject to availability. If an item turns out to be unavailable after you have ordered, we will tell you and refund you in full for that item.
- We may limit the number of bottles of a release that one customer or household can buy, and may cancel orders that exceed a stated limit.
- If we have made an obvious pricing error, we will contact you and you can either pay the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
- We cannot accept orders by phone or email.
5. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include UK VAT where applicable. Delivery is charged separately and shown at checkout.
- For orders delivered outside the UK, UK VAT is removed at checkout. Import duties and taxes are your responsibility, except for USA orders, where they are paid at checkout. See our Shipping Policy.
- We accept debit and credit cards, processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
- Payment is taken when you place your order, except for pre-orders (including ballot releases), explained below.
6. Delivery
Delivery times, costs, the countries we ship to and the addresses we cannot deliver to are set out in our Shipping Policy.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Your rights to cancel, return and get a refund are set out in our Returns Policy. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Pre-orders and ballots
- Some releases are sold on pre-order before they are ready to ship. The expected release date is shown on the product page.
- When you place a pre-order, we run a check to confirm your card is valid. No money is taken or held on your card at this point.
- Payment is taken when your pre-order is converted into an order, when the release is ready to dispatch.
- If your bank declines the payment at that point, we will email you and you will have 24 hours to make payment.
- Release dates can change. If a release is delayed significantly, we will tell you and you can cancel for a full refund.
- Some very limited releases are offered by ballot. A ballot entry is placed as a pre-order, and these terms apply to it. If your entry is not successful, nothing is charged to your card.
- We may disqualify duplicate or fraudulent entries.
9. Tastings and tours
All locations
- Bookings are paid in full when you book.
- You must be 18 or over to take part in tastings. Under-18s cannot attend.
- If you are driving, you may nose the whiskies but not drink them. We will provide your measures to take away.
- Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your start time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may not be able to join, and the booking cannot be refunded.
- Changes and cancellations are covered in our Returns Policy.
- We may cancel or reschedule a tasting if we have to. If we do, you can choose a new date or a full refund.

10. The Cadenhead's Club
- Membership is a one-off payment for lifetime membership. There is no renewal fee.
- Membership is personal to you and cannot be transferred or shared.
- New members receive 2 tasting vouchers worth £45 each. Each voucher is single use, can only be used on tastings and tours, and expires 12 months after it is issued.
- Member benefits, releases and events may change over time.
- We may end a membership if a member breaks these terms, for example by reselling members-only bottlings or by abusive behaviour towards our staff.
11. Discount codes and gift vouchers
- Discount codes must be entered at checkout and cannot be added to an order or booking afterwards.
- Only one discount code can be used per order.
- Codes and vouchers have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
12. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Examples include courier failures, strikes, civil unrest, terrorism or war, fire, flood, storms and other severe weather, pandemics, and failures of telecommunications or transport.
If such an event affects your order, we will tell you as soon as we reasonably can and take reasonable steps to limit the effect. Our obligations are suspended while the event continues, and we will arrange a new delivery date afterwards. If the event lasts more than 30 days, you can cancel your order. We will refund what you have paid, including the original delivery charge, and you will need to return any items you have already received, at your own cost.
13. Our liability
- If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure, up to the price you paid for the order.
- We are not responsible for business losses. Our products are for personal use only.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the products.
14. Fraud
We may cancel or refuse orders, and may inform the police, where we believe someone is trying to obtain goods by fraud or otherwise break the law. If we believe a customer is deliberately delaying or obstructing an order, we may cancel it and refuse future orders.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be dealt with by the Scottish courts, although if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home country.
