Inside Cadenhead's
Scotland's Oldest Independent Bottler, Since 1842
The people, the place and the casks behind every bottle.
In short
What We Actually Do
We buy casks from distilleries throughout Scotland and sometimes even further afield, mature them in our own warehouses in Campbeltown, and bottle them under our own name. We have been doing this since 1842, which proudly makes us Scotland’s Oldest Independent Bottler.
Founded in 1842
Originally located n Aberdeen. We moved to Campbeltown in 1972, and everything has been bottled there since.
Independent Bottler
We buy casks from across Scotland & around the world. The skill is choosing them and knowing when they are ready to bottle.
Nothing added
No added colouring and no chill-filtration, and no added sugar in our rums. What was in the cask goes in the bottle.
Part of J & A Mitchell
The Campbeltown based company that also owns Springbank and Glengyle distilleries. In fact, our bottling hall sits on the grounds of Glengyle near the centre of the town.
