Shipping Policy
This page explains how, where and when we deliver orders placed on cadenhead.scot. For cancellations, refunds and damaged items, see our Returns Policy.
At a glance
- We ship from our warehouse in Campbeltown, Scotland.
- UK orders usually arrive within 3 to 5 working days. International orders usually arrive within 14 working days.
- Every order is tracked. We email your tracking number when your order leaves us.
- Someone aged 18 or over must receive the delivery, and the driver may ask for ID.
- Orders outside the UK are sold without UK VAT, and local duties and taxes are paid on arrival, except for the USA, where they are paid at checkout.
Delivery times
We aim to dispatch every order promptly and will contact you if we expect a significant delay. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees, because the final delivery is made by our courier partners.
- UK: usually 3 to 5 working days.
- International: usually up to 14 working days, depending on the country.
Our mail order team works Monday to Friday. Orders placed at weekends or on Scottish and UK public holidays are processed on the next working day, and couriers do not deliver on some public holidays.
Campbeltown is a remote town, so bad weather and ferry or road disruption can add delays that are outside our control. If your order is time-critical, please order in good time. If a delayed release date is shown on the product page or website banner, that date applies instead.
Tracking
Once your order has been packed and collected by the courier, we email you to confirm dispatch, with your tracking number. Your order shows as “Processing” until then.
Orders are delivered by our courier partners.
Proof of age
It is illegal to sell alcohol to anyone under 18 in the UK. The person receiving your delivery must be 18 or over and may be asked for photo ID. In other countries the legal drinking age varies, and the driver may also ask for proof of age.
Where we deliver
We deliver to the countries in the table below. We cannot accept orders to any other country. If you have a question about delivering to your country, please contact us at [email protected] before ordering.
- Canada: Alberta only.

VAT, duties and import rules
- UK orders include UK VAT.
- Orders outside the UK are sold without UK VAT, which is removed at checkout. You are responsible for any import duties, taxes and customs fees charged in your country, and your courier may ask you to pay these before delivery.
- USA: duties and taxes are calculated and paid at checkout, so nothing further is due on delivery.
- France: French customs currently charge a clearance fee of around €100 on alcohol deliveries from the UK. This is charged by French customs, not by us.
- It is your responsibility to check your country’s import rules for alcohol before ordering. Your local customs office can tell you what will be charged. We cannot be held responsible for the actions of customs authorities.
Delivery addresses
You can send your order to a different address from your billing address. Just enter it at checkout. Some addresses are not accepted:
- PO boxes: we cannot dispatch to PO box addresses. Your order will be held, and may be cancelled, while we ask you for a street address.
- Schools: we do not deliver alcohol to schools.
- Military bases: these need a full physical address and can cause delays. Please check the base’s own rules before ordering.
- Forwarding services: if you use a parcel forwarding company, or someone collects and re-ships your order after we have delivered it, you do so at your own risk. We cannot guarantee that onward shipment.
Please check your address carefully. We are not responsible for orders sent to an incorrect or incomplete address you have given us, and you agree to pay any cost of re-sending the parcel.
What we cannot do
- Take orders by email or phone. All orders must be placed on this website.
- Reserve stock or hold orders for collection.
- Combine separate orders, or combine an online order with a purchase from one of our shops.
- Deliver online orders to our Campbeltown, Edinburgh or London shops, unless a product page says otherwise.
Missed deliveries
The courier makes up to 3 delivery attempts, sometimes fewer. If you think you have missed a delivery, contact the courier or your local collection point using your tracking number. If you need help, email us at [email protected].
If your order has not arrived
Most late orders are simply delayed and turn up shortly. If yours has not arrived:
- Check the estimated delivery times above. UK orders can take up to 5 working days and international orders up to 14, longer if a delayed release date was shown.
- Track your parcel and contact the courier. They have the most up-to-date information.
- If you still cannot find it, email us at [email protected] with your order number and we will investigate with the courier.
