Nose

Initially engine oil, then marzipan, cookie dough, and coffee beans. Becoming lighter with marshmallows and honeycomb.

Palate

Quite herbal, fennel, lemon thyme and a touch of spearmint. Apple skins and soft brown sugar.

Finish

Faint spice, almond butter and lemon meringue pie.

Distilled at

Royal Brackla

Historically known for its smoky spirit - although that has changed over time - Royal Brackla was founded in 1817 by Captain William Fraser.

This made Fraser deeply unpopular with the moonshiners in the area but his whisky was a great success, gaining a fan in King William IV - the whisky became known by some as "The King's Own Whisky."

These days, the spirit is known for its fresh fruitiness and strong nose.
