Amontillado Hogshead since 2020

Full of peated notes from the get-go, this 11 year old Staoisha expression from Bunnahabhain distillery on Islay is reminiscent of barbecue coals, jerk chicken skewers, salted caramel and crispy seaweed.

Bunnahabhain

An imperious and impressive distillery located on the north-east of Islay - the location was decided by William Robertson (of Robertson & Baxter) along with Greenlees Bros back in 1881. This remote location meant that they had to build houses as well, constructing a road and a pier too, so that workers could live nearby and casks & barley could come in with whisky going out.

Production has increased in recent times, leading to investment in the distillery site - including a visitor centre.
