Nose
Geraniums, quite earthy with cherry cola and faint whiff of antiseptic cream.
Palate
Rye bread, creamy with dunnage warehouse and then some peach skins and over ripe pears.
Finish
Mixture of spice, earthy notes and then big juicy fruits.

There is no doubt that Benrinnes is a Cadenhead's favourite and it isn't hard to work out why.
Not known for being a single malt (being only occasionally seen as such where it displays a meaty character), which gives independent bottlers the perfect opportunity to showcase this distillery.
The current location of the Benrinnes distillery is actually its second site. The original was built in 1826 by a man named Peter MacKenzie but this was destroyed in a 1829 flood. A new site was then found by John Innes.
