Nose
Sweet honey with earthy overtones. Orange peel with dunnage warehouse and some creamier and coconut notes.
Palate
Thick and chewy, orange and lemon zest. Praline, some fizzy sherbert and then milk chocolate, toffee and cardamon.
Finish
Faint spice, lemon grass, slightly autumnal. Some red berries, honeycomb and quite buttery and waxy.

There is no doubt that Benrinnes is a Cadenhead's favourite and it isn't hard to work out why.
Not known for being a single malt (being only occasionally seen as such where it displays a meaty character), which gives independent bottlers the perfect opportunity to showcase this distillery.
The current location of the Benrinnes distillery is actually its second site. The original was built in 1826 by a man named Peter MacKenzie but this was destroyed in a 1829 flood. A new site was then found by John Innes.
