Nose
Initially earthy, then orange blossom, raspberries, quince jelly. Fudge and soft stewed fruits.
Palate
More red fruits on palate with dark cherries, red currants, and then some brambles and black cherries all with an earthy . cream background.
Finish
Dry and earthy fading to raspberries and cream.

There is no doubt that Benrinnes is a Cadenhead's favourite and it isn't hard to work out why.
Not known for being a single malt (being only occasionally seen as such where it displays a meaty character), which gives independent bottlers the perfect opportunity to showcase this distillery.
The current location of the Benrinnes distillery is actually its second site. The original was built in 1826 by a man named Peter MacKenzie but this was destroyed in a 1829 flood. A new site was then found by John Innes.
