The most northerly distillery on the island, Bunnahabhain translates from Gaelic to 'mouth of the river'. This single cask bottling from the Islay distillery is deliciously peaty with notes of pine trees, cigar box, dark chocolate, smoked mackerel, barbecue coals and tonka bean.

Bunnahabhain Information

An imperious and impressive distillery located on the north-east of Islay - the location was decided by William Robertson (of Robertson & Baxter) along with Greenlees Bros back in 1881. This remote location meant that they had to build houses as well, constructing a road and a pier too, so that workers could live nearby and casks & barley could come in with whisky going out.

Production has increased in recent times, leading to investment in the distillery site - including a visitor centre.

Pebble shore, flint, pine trees, dark chocolate, cigar box.

Crème Brûlée, smoked mackerel, raspberry jam.
