Re-racking into a white port hogshead in 2020 has left an interesting impression on this spirit from Glengarioch. Notes of orange zest, lemon and marmalade combine with earthy notes of leather bound books and aniseed.

Distilled at

Glengarioch

Pronounced "Glen Geery," this is one of the oldest distilleries in existence, being founded in 1797.

Is spent many years being self-sufficient in malt, although that is no longer the case. The layout of the distillery is both traditional, with original rooms still included, and modern, with the equipment inside these rooms being relatively new. Additional rooms have been added as the distillery expanded.

The new spirit has a deep cereal and spice note and also a waxy nature. As it ages. the heaviness changes into a thick texture, with sweet fruits and heather.
